World Business Chicago, the city’s economic development agency, announced the rollout of a new marketing campaign centered on the term “pro-Chicago” to highlight key economic achievements in 2021.

The advertising campaign will be published online, in print, on social media and on three urban freeway digital billboards until February 22.

“Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite KPIs are pro-Chicago decisions,” says Michael Fassnacht, President and CEO, World Business Chicago and Chief Marketing Officer, City of Chicago. “The World Business Chicago Research Center and the team track all types of activity throughout the year. This data helps us position Chicago competitively in the United States and on the world stage. The Pro-Chicago Decision ad campaign aims to draw attention to the number of companies that choose Chicago to grow their business. I hope that the business community and the people of Chicago will see that we really have the momentum in 2022.”

Aggressive city branding and marketing is a cornerstone of the work of the Mayor’s COVID-19 Recovery Task Force, with a dedicated push from World Business Chicago to highlight Chicago’s leading role on the global economic scene. Long known as the industrial and financial powerhouse of the Midwest, Chicago is being reintroduced to the world as an economically diverse hub of technology, distribution and logistics, food innovation, manufacturing, finance and many other verticals.
